Yo! I'm at the sia lounge now waiting to board the flight to manchester...The internet connection here is super fast =P Well, F_ did come over this morning and...made today practically the happiest day of my life *big happy grin*...Mmm I love you darling...Gonna miss you like crazy, tho you'll prob only read this when you book out this weekend, right? ;-)
Have fun with the boys k? =) I love you I love you I love you. Hmm...My sweet F_ gave me a sunflower and a rose this morning, as well as more chocolates (cos twit family had almost depleted the choc supply from thursday) Too bad I can't bring them along with me to uk, so to the little twits back home, do take of them yah. =) Well, we bummed around in kor's room watching vcds (matrix 1 and zoolander) and other stuff and I finally gave him the strung-up straw-stars that I made weeks ago but hadn't had the chance to give him. Ok I really hafta go now...Take care everybody...especially my darling F_... Hope memories of today will see us through these eleven days... :X

Dumdeedum~...Just woke up, had breakfast and went to disturb parents who were busy getting ready for their agm today. Beeeeg importaaaannt annual general meeting. Heh my dad asked me if his yellow tie was too long and I told him to stuff it into his pants. Har Har. Anyways they're gone already so now i'm just bumming around, surfing the net and waiting for F_ to awake from his deep drug-induced slumber and call me. Hope he feels better today and can come over and watch vcds or go shopping =)

I was about to post a new 'un last night when my sister switched off the server comp downstairs and ruined my hard work (ok, not really hard work). So. Today was fun fun fun. After a stoned out tennis lesson (being unable to sleep last night), went home to bathe before visiting our family gp to get the cork medical report filled up. Then jumped back into bed and recharged my batteries till my best gal pal M_ called to confirm time and place to meet. Drove over to orchard, met up and went to sushi tei for a nice jap lunch, then shopped around in wisma and heeren, cos she had loads of errands to run (buy face stuff, return library book, fix glasses...) We checked out the new shops at the just-renovated heeren and took neoprint...which actually turned out nicer than we thought =) Haha, we were both dressed in red today, what a coincidence...At 6pm, after dropping her off at newton mrt (she was late for training), finally came home and cooled off in the pool...It's been so hot lately...That was delicious...Oh poor F_ has two days' mc cos his elbow is swollen (and getting bigger, he says) from a scorpion bite during last last week's field camp. So he's coming over to make up for the no-show on sunday...heh heh...Hey F_! Get well soon yah? Tho I must say your 2 days' mc is extreeeeemely convenient....;-) Love you :X We'll have fun tmr.

Lalala...On cloud nine now...After watching a super-boring and plotless show (Max..the hitler one)...But of course, F_ more than compensated for that ;-) Btw, we found out that the reason why we both smell so good is because we both use ocean mist from bodyshop. Isn't that coincidental??? =) F_ was really tired, having been so busy the whole day, so we skipped our usual swensen's supper and headed home. Oh no. Tummy making noises now. Hungry. Bleaugh. Oh well, shall go sleep the hunger pangs off...Yay! I'm seeing him again tmr...So happy...Mmmmph...Oh and since his book-in time is 9pm, I'll prob try and persuade him to stop over at my place and take a few pics on the webcam, so we can have new (and improved) pics and he'll stop grumbling about how horrible that little pic of him is (heh heh). And, of course, to finish up the second box of chocolates (yum) and the second disc of matrix 1...So looking forward to it. =)

FINALLY. I'm home. What an exhausting day. Had to wake up at 6am, bleary-eyed and blurry-brained, stumbled in a half-stupor into the car and dad sped his way to the senai office where he deposited the car (come on, he reached the woodlands checkpoint from our house in 15mins larh) and someone drove us to the airport, where we took a 45 min plane ride to kl (I was sleeping the whole trip). Then it was a 1-hr car ride to ampwalk (?) building. Much to my surprise, the 2 rcsi interviewers were malaysian-chinese. The interview itself was fine, the only question which required more brains than usu to answer was the last one "why should our school offer you a place?" Anyways, I should know the results in two weeks' time. How convenient. After the 20 min interview, dad and I and the guy who drove us went to eat at the famous ampang yong tau foo place, before the guy deposited us at the kl railway station and we took a 28-min train ride back to senai. Fun =) Then bummed around at dad's senai factory till 7+pm, eventually they closed shop and we drove home, stopping at the adam road hawker centre to grab dinner...Reached back at 8.30pm. Phew. Hmmm...It's 9.45pm now and F_ hasn't called or smsed...And he said he wanted to meet up tonight...Sheesh...Don't think parents will let me go out so late tho...Sigh...

Yay! I'm happy! Today was wonderful...After his interview, F_ came over to my place (suntec being dead at 10.30am) bearing two nicely-wrapped up boxes of chocs. We watched the first disc of the original matrix, enjoying the chocs and each other's company, but he had to go off 5 mins into the second disc cos he had to book in by 1.30pm. Drove him to clementi mrt, got lost on the way back but eventually found the road home, getting stuck in the nyps jam along the way...Haha...Anyways, I just wanted to tell F_ (who's coming out tmr night! Yay!) this : I love you I love you I love you... ;-) Tmr I hafta wake up real early, must leave the house by 6.30am. Dad's driving us to senai, where we'll take an 8.20 flight to kl, where i'll be having my rcsi interview at 10.30am. It's supposed to be 15 mins long. Phew. Can't stand the thought of another 30min one. Then take a train back to the kl airport, fly back to senai and bum around till mom and dad finish their business at the senai factory. Sigh. Hope the interview won't be too difficult...Better go do my research now. Bleaugh. =P

10:41 PM

*Yawn*. Sleepy. Just got a call from F_, who was mugging for his interview which is tmr morning. I'll prob be meeting him at suntec after. He says he has a surprise for me, but his only hint is that it involves hundreds of people (?), is very unambiguous (??) and has to happen at the correct time and place (???) which, unfortunately, isn't tomorrow so it leaves me curious. Very curious. ;-) Ah well, I suppose the photo with the hp message (in the left column) is a surprise of sorts for him too... Today was rather uneventful, woke up at noon and went to see the dentist with sis at 4pm. Visit (cleaning teeth and lecture on the necessity of wearing retainers) took longer than expected. Went home to take a nap, being in a torpor from the insane heat, but didn't get much of a nap cos was getting his smses. After dinner, sped off to sicc for tennis, which was rotten cos I was rather tired and I *think* there was something wrong with my right arm. Just couldn't serve into the box. Oh well better grab some sleep now...Too sleepy to type... =P

New pics!!! Yay!!! Sis and I decided to utilize the webcam (the scanner being unavailable) and give our blogs a personal touch. So, enjoy ;-) (F_: cut off yer head from some prom foto in our class yahoogroups...So kindda blurry ;-) A thousand and one apologies to all ardent fans of my blog for the lack of an update yesterday...Had tennis early morning, learnt how to volley which was easy, and how to serve with a bang (y'know that nice "tok" sound when the ball hits the middle of the racquet?) which was not so easy. Went home and recharged my batteries till 1pm, when F_'s sms awoke me. Went out for lunch and shopping with parents at centrepoint in preparation for our upcoming uk trip (27/5 to 6/6), got two of those trolley luggage bags. Met F_ at plaza sing at 9pm, watched matrix reloaded again and still found it so much fun to watch, plus F_ provided a little insight into the movie...After that, I felt hungry so with the aid of the road map, we made our way to lau pa sat (and found that it was actually really near) where he ate banana split with rotten bananas and I (wisely) ate ice kacang. The place was rather deserted, so we had no problems finding a parking space, albeit an illegal one (double yellow lines). F_ then showed me a new route home via the ecp, so that we could admire the singapore skyline by night...So nice...Reached home at 1+am, escorted him once again to the junction outside our ole primary school where we bid each other farewell. F_ had some telephone interview today, he was supposed to come over to my place (parents being conveniently overseas from this morning to thurs) after but something came up so we didn't get to meet...However, he told me that he's coming out this fri night, having been granted a long weekend, so we shall *hopefully* make the most of it, before my uk trip...

Yo! Guess what??? I simply couldn't resist my dad's offer and went to watch matrix reloaded! Hahahahaha....I watched matrix reloaded~ I watched matrix reloaded~ *big happy grin* Listening to the funky matrix 1 soundtrack now, really tempted to get the reloaded soundtrack...As usual, the music was cool...And the movie itself was even better, especially the kung fu. Fave part? Highway Car Chase. But certain bits weren't very logical, like the part where neo had to fend off hundred++ clones of agent smith. Why didn't he just do that superman stunt and fly off? Instead, what the audience gets is a superbly choreographed fight scene. But that's what the matrix is all about, isn't it? It's x-men with funkier clothes and sunglasses, skinner cast and a dose of philosophy. Still, matrix 1 is my fave movie of all time. We were part of the patient (and informed) minority who bothered to stay back, let the credits roll, and catch a snippet of revolutions, which comes out in november. Can't wait!!! Oh well, better than waiting four years, eh? ;-) And here's a little spoiler : Neo has to do a 1-v-1 with the hilarious agent smith again. Smith gets the funny lines, check out the "oh god-smith will do" one. Ahaha. I loved it. Gonna watch it again, with F_, who incidentally *just* smsed me...Just got back from field camp *grin* Got tennis early tmr 8am, but he's gonna call so i shall surf and slack for another hr....;-)

ARSENAL WON THE FA CUP!!! This is sweet justice indeed. After playing so well this season, they definitely deserve to win something. Though the scoreline (1-0) was nowhere near as impressive as the 6-1 in the epl game, who cares? It was enough to do the job. Yay! Happy footballers are an amusing sight to watch. Hugging each other and just jumping around on the spot, doing a jig...So cute =) Oh dear I'm a horrible slacker. Today was supposed to be a super-busy day devoted to softball, but I overslept and missed the rj-hc game at 9am and decided to give rebels training a miss at 3.30pm, it being such a hot and humid day, just felt like sleeping. Esp after tossing and turning till 4am. So totally hyper now, gonna finish up "small gods", which incidentally is an absolutely spastic and hilarious book, go read it. terry pratchett is just soooo funny. =) Feel rather strange though, usually (for the past month and a half, at least) I'll be out gallivanting around orc on a saturday night, and probably just driving home now (if not at swensen's or just strolling around). Hmmm tomorrow family's gonna do that dinner+movie thing, dad's booking tix for matrix reloaded...To watch or not to watch? That is the question... =)

Ah. What joy. I have finally put up pictures on my blog. Unfortunately, it squashes the blog entries to one side, so if anybody has any idea on how to rectify the problem, please do tag my board. If not, I'll have to remove the pictures soon cos it's ruining the layout. (Also, do spend a second to hover your mouse over the pictures cos I painstakingly labelled them) Today was fun. After spending the whole afternoon fiddling with the comp, went to my classmate E_'s house to play tennis. Her condo has 3 tennis courts, and she just got fired from her job (cos her mom is a nurse. of all the absurd reasons) so now we're both slacking. Cool eh. Unfortunately both of us aren't that good, me being a n00b and her being rusty (stopped lessons in sec 1) but we did manage to rally a bit. Then we trooped back to her place for some home-made pizza. Yum. Looking forward to our next session. E suggested we get 2 more people so we could rotate and it wouldn't be so tiring, but methinks our classmates are either too busy or too disinterested in sports so that would be rather difficult. Oh well. In other news, I have to go to kl for my rcsi interview next friday, 11.30am. Aieeee. So many interviews. Seems like my life right now consists of tennis, softball, going out and interviews. Haw Haw. Incidentally, the rj girls are playing hc tmr, so us j3s are going down to support. The game's at 9am...So early...better go sleep soon...*yawn* tennis and pizza sure is a lethal combination =)

Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann-Moss look like twins. If you have seen the matrix reloaded edition of time magazine, (and got conned into finding out the whole plot along the way) you'd probably have noticed this startling and rather disturbing fact. Which started me thinking about this: Some couples look like siblings. Just check out my brother and his gf (teeheehee). Oftentimes, esp at family dinners, people have mistaken her to be the 5th child of the family. And she does bear a certain resemblence to my younger sister (no offence). From an evolutionary perspective, that doesn't make sense. In-breeding is bad! It gives you mentally disabled kids with blood disorders. So why are people attracted to other people who look like them/their kin? Is it blatant narcissism? Sort of a I-think-I'm-beautiful-and-he-looks-like-me-so-he's-beautiful kind of thing? Or a freudian thing? Or a love for familiarity? Either way, it boggles the mind. Another point to ponder : Do opposites attract? Personally, I think it's all crap. Physically, maybe. If you have low self-esteem and you hate your looks (e.g. if you have a really big nose. You'll prob fall for someone with a small nose...if not, kissing would be difficult) But as for temperament and character, I believe that, as with friends, birds of a feather flock together. Although there is this little thing called complementary traits (e.g.one is talkative and the other is a good listener), in general, similar people tend to be attracted to each other. Also, I once read in this psychology book that people tend to set a standard of beauty based on how good-looking they are. So say you look in the mirror and you think "Hey, I'm an 8.2367 out of 10" Then you'd instinctively search for and be attracted to people whom you rate as 8.2367 or lower. Which explains why ugly people still exist and don't get eliminated by natural selection. Anyone wanna refute? Tag my board! =)

Ok after that barrage of nonsense...Down to blogging proper. Wednesday :Was jolted awake at 9am by dad charging into my room and yelling "overseas call! pick up!" Turns out the med admissions officer from uni of new south wales wanted to bring forward my telephone interview (supposed to be next wed) to noon today. I mumbled an acceptance, being too sleepy to think clearly (still lying in bed with the comforter on, etc) Finally decided to wake up and do some research on unsw, having no inkling on what it was about except that it was in sydney and organised english proficiency tests every year. At 11.55am, a Dr. J_ called and the interview lasted 35 mins (*phew*) and he quizzed me on everything under the sun starting with "where you were born" and also weird questions like "who's your closest family member and what do you think he thinks of you? " (kor. fun-loving and hardworking (?)) followed by "what do you think of yourself?" (pretty much the same, hawhaw...) also "what makes your closest friends your closest friends?" (buddies since sec school, study, eat, shit, sleep together, etc.ok, i didn't really say that ) and "where do you feel you stand among your peers?" (.....I'm not gonna tell you what I said for this one) But the Interview Question of the Day has to be... "who was the worst teacher you ever had and why?" (the itch with a capital B of course! Hey, how often do you get to rant and rave about your least favourite teacher? And to a total stranger who has to at least *pretend* to be interested???? ^_^) That had to be the longest (and weirdest) interview ever...But still, aren't telephone interviews the best???I mean, there I was, with my legs up on the computer table, wearing singlet and shorts and cradling a portable phone. Hell, I could have been surfing the net or scratching my ass and he wouldn't have known...Perhaps they don't wanna be prejudiced by appearances. Or they wanna tape it down and send it to psychologists for analysis ("Note that pregnant pause after that particular question...") Either way, it was pretty fun. Had to make up a few tall tales along the way ("have you ever provided medical care for anybody?" "uhhh...my sister sprained her ankle once and I had to bring her food to her" yeah right) but other than that, I *think* I did ok... Dad says the whole family might be going for a holiday-interview-uni-and-kor-visiting-trip to liverpool/cork/london at the end of this month, gotta wait for uni of liverpool to set a date for the interview first before confirming this...Heh, legoland and windsor castle, anyone? =) Oh yes dad and I went to the irish embassy today, but all the irish haf gone back to ireland cos of sars (no kidding) so we din get much info there, plus i had another enjoyable, non-tiring night tennis lesson. Yup that's all for today. Phew.

Your ideal mate is Cyclops. He's handsome, has
nice hair, and has a cute smile. But he is

He knows how a lady is to be treated and is one
you can grow old with.

Hey, doesn't the description of cyclops sound just like someone else? nevermind... ;-) My sister's ideal x2 mate is....bobby drake! And she said on kor's tag board that he was ugly. Harhar. Maybe she likes ugly men. *big grin*

Am on the verge of falling asleep on the keyboard right now, cos I slept late last night but had to wake up early cos aunty C_ (friend of my mom's) was coming over to demonstrate how to make chocolate eclairs. Unfortunately, our oven was screwed and we had to bring everything to her house to bake instead, but anyways the chocolate eclairs turned out delicious (it always pays to be generous with chocolate custard filling) so the time spent was worth it. Aunty C_ takes lessons in watercolour painting and is gonna start sketching lessons next week, twice a week two hours each, and invited me to join her, but there's some prob wif timing now, so I may or may not take that up. Trying to get a tues and thurs morning slot. Basically they'll go around singapore and sketch different landscapes. I'm not a landscape person, actually, I mostly draw animals or stuff straight out of my imagination, so this will be a new experience. Let's see how it goes. Today I got an email from uni of liverpool. They said if I was still interested in getting a place there I'd have to go to liverpool for an interview. Woah. Dad's sleeping now tho...so I shall tell him tmr. We're considering going to cork to take a look-see anyways so maybe we'll add liverpool to our agenda. Heh, if we do then I'd be able to visit my beloved kor (if he hasn't returned to s'pore already. *sheesh*) and gwen of course =) liverpool's ranked 5th for medicine in uk, fyi...that's higher than all those london ones...=P wanna find out more about uni of liverpool? good news : there are still matrix reloaded tickets for the booking at lido! even for the 15th may one (sneak previews) Sis is bugging me to watch, but I'm also supposed to watch with F_ (who only comes out next tues as compensation for missing vesak day hol)...but hey, I've watched matrix 1 six times (on vcd & hbo), so what's to stop me from watching matrix 2 twice? heh heh... *grin*

After reading the material that ucc sent me along with the letter of offer, with nice pics of their medieval-looking college and details on accomodation (self-catering), healthcare, societies, etc, am considering the prospect of going there to study. The city has population 200,000 and is a seaport near the south of ireland. It has an international airport that is 55mins flying time from London (no direct flights fr s'pore to cork) The uni itself has 12,000 students in all, and "the main campus is a compact cluster of buildings overlooking the River Lee". It has 500 med students (in total. compare that to 230x5 = 1150 med students in nus) and 1300 international students, and it has weird societies ranging from the medieval and renaissance club ("includes jousting and feasting, but hps are banned during the feasts") to the surgeon noonan society (comprises 20 fifth-yr med students who raise funds and go africa to distribute med supplies and practise) to the gay/bi/les club ("...open to all homos, bis and their friends, which makes everybody! Join if you feel like you can benefit from the club") to various political parties. One funky club is the live music society (it organises competitions for bands and offers free guitar and drums training). On top of that, you have the sports clubs which includes equestrian, motorcycle (?) and hurling (?? who can vomit furthest??). Unfortunately their softball club is inactive due to lack of members (....). Oh and can somebody tell me what the heck is gaelic football???Apparently it's for both men and women. And bridge and chess are considered sports..? If you wanna find out more about ucc, click here. Honestly, I don't really feel up to making such a big decision at this point in my life, I think that at 19 most people don't really know where they want to spend the next part of their life in. Unlike my brother who'll probably only stay in london for 4 years (unless he decides to further his studies) I would be gone from sunny singapore for 5 years basic degree + 1 year housemanship + 5 years specialist training(?) = 11 years. Wow. I'd be 30 by the time I come back. I can therefore understand my mother's great reluctance in letting me go overseas to study, and I know I'll miss my family, my friends and my car like crazy, not to mention the priviledges of comfort, security and privacy. On the other hand, my dad is encouraging me to go because, as he puts it, it'll be my only chance to experience life overseas. I would like to take kor as a guide of sorts, but his situation is too different...He has his gf and his friends there, whereas if I go to ireland I'll prob be the only singaporean there. So. It's a really tough decision to make, isn't it? Oh well let's just see if I get into nus first...cos if I don't then, hey, ireland here I come!

Very groggy. Headache. Cramps. Runny nose. Horrible. Left my hp on last night cos F_ and I were in the midst of a serious discussion and was awaken by his sms at 4am. Replied, he called (wow..I've never ever talked on the phone at 4am before) and we attempted to clear things up but we were too sleepy to make out what the other was saying and he had to go for his 8-day field camp so our discussion is temporarily put on hold till next tuesday. Went back to sleep, tossed and turned and had weird nightmares, then awoken by my hp alarm at 7am for tennis lessons. Waaay too sleepy to drive, asked dad to drive me there, learnt how to serve and practised forehand and backhand. Then came home and did that whole monday morning routine of bathe, sleep, lunch, stoned out again. What a bad day. Btw, I got an unconditional (no interview needed!) offer from ucc (that's university college cork) in ireland, so I think I won't be going to aussie after all, cos the Irish term starts on the same date (sept 29) as uk, so if I can't get nus I'll prob go Ireland. Prob is, I hafta send the fee deposit plus some medical report thing to ucc as "acceptance" by 28th may, might not have my nus results by then, but parents are considering just sending it anyways as an insurance. Not sure yet. That's the second serious discussion of the day. Too tired and stoned to make decisions, too disappointed to think clearly, just wanna lie in bed and waste the day away...=(

The incident kor is referring to is my Brush With Death On The Highway. Ok it wasn't that serious. Basically, it was my first car accident (initiation rites of passage to adulthood). Thankfully nobody got hurt, even my car didn't get hurt (although the other party's vehicle was slightly dented) and it gave me a huge scare, but other than that, life's pretty much back to normal now. In fact, after training, I went out with F_ last night in the hope of catching animatrix, but we were sorely disappointed because the tickets were sold out at both lido and plaza sing, so we just bummed around and ate cookies and noodles till bringing down the house started. For a comedy it was surprisingly long, ended at 11.45pm. We drove back to my place together cos I was too tired to send him home, parked the car then walked him out to the junction outside our old alma mater nyps (where we first met...primary 5) Then he continued out to hc to hail a cab while I ran home to bed. Well, today was mother's day. Woke up at 11am. Drew Mom a card then booked tickets for animatrix at lido, ate lunch, then went off to meet him. Unfortunately, we were a little late for the movie and missed the first short film, "second renaissance part 1" but anyways all the short films were pretty crappy/incomprehensible except for the final flight of the osiris -- the animation was superb, and woaahhh boy was the girl pretty. Apparently squareusa did the graphics, they're the fellers who did final fantasy, so that explains a lot. We thought the movie was only 45 mins (misinformation fed by his brother) but it turned out to be 1.5hrs, which totally screwed up our schedule. We were supposed to go to heeren to shop for mother's day gifts, but thankfully they had pretty flower arrangements selling on the first floor of shaw centre, so despite the exorbitant prices, we bought them (I got geraniums, he got roses) and I dropped him off at his home, before speeding home to meet up with family to go tony's for dinner. p.s. Reason why we were so anxious to go out this weekend? He's got field camp from tmr till next monday, and he's not allowed to bring his hp...Sigh...

Aieeee...It's friday liao! Ever wondered why I always look forward to the weekends? *big grin* Thursday : Awoken by an sms at 11am, lazed around and did half of the unsw questionnaire. Yesyes i've been lazy and putting it off...But after the nus interviews, who wouldn't be sick of filling up "why do you wanna be a doc" questionnaires??? Gotta post it back to them before the telephone interview tho...And according to the email they just sent me, that's either may 14, 21 or 28 (all wednesdays) so... At noon, dad, mom and I picked up bro from ri and went to east coast to eat prawn noodles (that was NOT our original plan...actually, we were going to geylang for fish head but they were closed) When we returned, we found the area from the driveway to the garage flooded with water. Inititally we thought our upstares neighbour's pool was leaking (it being strategically located above the basketball hoop) but when we turned on a tap, the water pressure was low, so it was definitely a burst water pipe. Well good ol' dad immediately called the plumber while Mom and I went off to taka 'cos she wanted to patronise tiffany's and I wanted to go to orc library. Finally found one of F_'s reccs, "small gods" by terri pratchett. Frittered the time away at the fiction section, then went to check out some books on drawing (pastels look really fun) until mom found me. When we got home, the leak was, thankfully, fixed though bro and dad had already taken a bath in the pool, it being such an insanely hot day. After dinner bro and I hung out together in the (our) library (he claims I drew a pair of boobs in his bi3 zi4 ben3 when he was in primary 5 and thus caused him to be accused by his friend of being a perverted twit...hey, I don't remember man! hehheh =) too bad the teacher din see it tho...) He taught me how to make stars out of straws so I was practising till my fingers got really sore (cos you hafta grip the straws real tightly while folding, if you want your star to look like a star) and ended up making NINE stars...After consulting mom, strung them up and they look really pretty! Too bad we ran out of red straws.. Later today bro's putting on braces (teehee...last of the oahzes) Poor feller.

Mmmm...Was introduced to famous amos cookies today, by F_ who finished his interview in one hour, leaving us almost 5 hours to spend together (don't ask me how he managed to request for leave till 3pm...excellent persuasion skills blablabla...=) We met at taka (our original meeting place, esplanade, was dead at 10am) walked to cine, no shows, walked to lido, also nothing, and finally decided to go to my place and watch nat. security on vcd (it's a damn spastic show, but the way the bad guy was eliminated at the end was absolutely hilarious) As we were walking towards the carpark, the sweet aroma of cookies caught his attention and despite repeatedly telling me that the cookies were really high-fat and sinful (the fat cashier was evidence) he bought 200g of premium all-in-one cookies which served as a substitute for popcorn. Oh, on the way back, he got an sms from gic informing him that he had got past the first round of interviews, and would be having a second round. So, congrats to you F_! You're the best...*hug* =) At my house, F_, the self-proclaimed "great way with animals" guy, chased the chickens around and proclaimed that they didn't like him (Duh) Heehee =) As we were watching the movie, besides the cookies, he also fed me green tea ice-cream (we have 5 tubs in the fridge now) so we had no appetite for lunch, and then I took him on a victory lap around rjc before dropping him off at buona vista mrt. At 8pm I had my first night tennis lesson and it was fantastic. Usu I'm half-dead in half an hour due to the sun and the humidity, but this was wonderful, even after the hour was up I was still raring to go. Of course, the satisfying dinner and the 1-hr nap before might have helped a little. Hehheh. But y'know, those warnings about not exercising after dinner are true...Simply too full of adrenaline to sleep now. Oh, in other news, I've been given an unconditional offer to uni of melbourne, but I hafta decide on whether to accept or not asap, cos although the due date is 30 June (nus interview results are out end may, or so I heard) the offer only remains open as long as there are places available, and according to the IDP agent, they give quite a lot of offers, and it's first-come-first-served. So. I have to decide. I'd rather do med in nus tho, it's my second choice after uk (which is dead, except maayyybe liverpool) so hopefully I'll get nus and can forget about everything else. U of new south wales also gave me a conditional offer, but I hafta get past their telephone interview before they'll give me an unconditional offer. Now everyone wants me it's sooo cool...Oh well I'll just leave it up to God to decide. =)

Yee ha! kor hast set up hist blog! I'm so glad...Now all he has to do (*hinthint*) is to get a tag-board and a guest book and he's all set. His links are uh...rather interesting to say the least *ahem*. Anyways i have linked his page to mine so go check it out ;-) Also, I'm delighted that You, the avid reader of my blog, has been making full use of the tag-board. You deserve a pat on the back. *pat* Uh today parents and I went to centrepoint cos Mom wanted to get a refund on the gigantic stack of vitamins she bought not too long ago (I was actually there when she bought 'em) and she managed to get $50 credited back to her. Not bad huh =) Was remarking to them that it's sooo ironic. First, there was sars (my evil alter-ego) so people scrambled to buy vitamins. And now pan pharma. screwed up so now everybody's rushing to get their piles of vitamins refunded. Heh heh. That's kiasu singaporeans for you. Went to spotlight (The blue pillow F_ got for his bunk is still there, got 3 of them. My red one only had one left. Teehee...) where mom bought cloth. She says she's gonna make skirts for me. Awww so sweet... =) Dad wanted to bring me car-window-shopping (inspired by the sight of a funky BM convertible while we were driving home) but when we got home, bro was in the midst of having lunch when he claimed he got an eel bone (?!?) stuck in his throat, so dad brought him to doctor, but as I expected, the doc couldn't find anything cos eel bones are so small and fine you're supposed to eat them. Duh. Anyways, F_ is having his gic interview tmr and asked me to lunch wif him in the shenton area...maybe lau par sat... if saf lets him stay out for long enough, his interview being at 9am. Tennis has been moved to 8pm tmr cos the coach is busy at my usu 9am time slot so that is soooo convenient, ain't it? ;-) Oh, got a college day invite yesterday...it's 26 july, a saturday, I'm receiving some cert called the 'academic excellence award"...Sounds pretty impressive, huh? Heh it's the equivalent of giving the finger to those twits who f***ed up my ucas application, so go me!!!

Ok kor is trying to set up a blog (finally!) but he says blogspot is screwed so this is just testing.

11:14 PM

I think it's becoming a routine. Monday morning routine. 7am:wake up to the soothing strains of hp alarm 7.45am:drive to sicc 8am:start tennis 9.00am:drive home 9.10am: bathe 9.20 am: flop onto bed and read 10am: fall asleep 1.30pm: wake up to the soothing strains of radio, have lunch etc. See? Each day passes so quickly when you're jobless. Hehhehheh =) Actually, it's just that tennis is so darn energy-consuming that it takes much much more than just 1 hr. It uses up your whole morning. Today's lesson was particularly bad because it was so humid, was dripping with perspiration by the end of 15 minutes, the coach was like "hey! it's raining! but only on this little spot" (i.e. below my head) Listening to coldplay now, most of the songs from their ROBTTH album are good, and most have piano in the background, played by CM who sings in a really laconic, unique manner, his crooning is nice but has a tendency to put me to sleep (is it just me?) The best of blur album on the other hand has really recognisable guitar riffs at the start of each song so when you first hear the song you go "oh yeaaahhhhhh THAT song" Listening to blur makes me wanna listen to oasis, who are an equally good band, but they didn't have the smarts to compile a best of album so I dunno where to start downloading. Reccs? On a low note, arsenal is officially out of the running for the premiereship title, after a humiliating home defeat by leeds this morning. Humiliating cos leeds has been playing like shit this season, and in fact are on the brink of relegation, and more humiliating cos it means now that dad's team man yoo is going to win my team which is also very irritating. Grrr. And now viera and campbell are MIA and I really really hope that even so they can win the FA cup, so at least they won't go away empty-handed this season. Hmm my friend claims he had a dream last night of me bitching about having to hit penalities (?) using a backhand hyperhammer (??) which caused him to scream in his sleep (???) Hahaha. Y'know the slogan eat, sleep and dream football? That makes the TWO of us (ref to apr 28 entry). Anyways, I'm sure he brings joy to his bunkmate. =)

Dum dee dum~ Yesterday supposed to go out wif F_ again but he had to do some lawyer report so it was cancelled and I spent the night chilling out wif dad watching football. The man yoo game ended 4-1 (vnist hattrick. he's really going for the 46-goal record, isn't he?) and westham actually beat chelsea 1-0. Woah. Fell asleep before the third game at midnight tho =P Lazy Sundays are the best. Fetched bro back from j8 (he went to interview the mrt station master for some project. so bo liao. heh) No family lunch/dinner today tho cos :1)bro has two exams tmr and hasn't studied for either 2)sis has CA tmr and hasn't studied finish (ref to puddlesworth's blog) 3)they're showing x-men1 and jerry maguire and arsenal vs leeds tonight ** Took a 3-hr nap (despite waking up at 10.30am) and woke up at 4pm for lunch. Stoned around and downloaded coldplay's rush of blood to the head album, the best of blur album and the miscellaneous tracks from juliana theory. F_ recommended pictures, stars and dreams to me...First time I heard it, thought it was only so-so, but after listening to it a few more times and looking up the lyrics, realised it's actually a damn nice song and now it's stuck in my head (oh well so F_ DOES have pretty good taste in music...heh). So my song recommendation of the day has to be pictures, stars and dreams by juliana theory. Go check it out ;-) Ok jerry maguire just started so tata folks! Oh, and I set up my tag board today on my sister's recc, so go post messages on it and destroy my blog. Yay!

Law written test : which is the most important quality a lawyer should have? integrity, loyalty or desire for justice. I say integrity. Wrote a measley 1.5 pages (as compared to the girl diagonally in front of me, she wrote 2.5 pages...*shudder*) Anyways, it doesn't matter. 3 football games on tonight, man u is busy bashing up charlton and it's half-time so here I am. Ok back to football now

8:28 PM

Quick 'un before I rush off to the multi-purpose sports hall (yesss korrr your hockey place) for the law written test, which I'm totally unprepared for and don't feel like taking. Yes we watched X2 yesterday, lido was a mad house, so crowded we actually couldn't even get 2 seats for the 9.15 show and ended up watching the 9.45 one which ended at midnight (smuggling in a bottle of chilled sake along the way...hehhehheh) X2 is definitely worth a watch, as F_ so succintly describes it, it's high on special effects but low on plot. But, hey, it's an action thriller, not a potential oscar-nominee??? So I say, go watch it. And, watch out for that reference to the "six-year-old girl". Note : Only people who aren't half-drunk can catch that though (see? drink all the sake....=P ) Gave him the choker I bought for him, he looks real good in it (kindda goes with the spiky gelled hair and that shirt) and he thinks it's funky (property tag?) so I'm real glad I got it for him. Uh, last night was the latest we ever stayed out, cos after the movie we felt really hungry so we went to swensen's (swensEn's not swensOn's) and ate an earthquake (that's 8 scoops of pure ice-cream goodness, for all you ignoramuses out there) and as we were actually *gasp* not chased out like the previous time, we stayed and chatted till 1.30, walked back to shaw centre and round the carpark to find the car and my goodness the cte was actually jammed at 2am. But we eventually got out of it (aggressive driving tactics?) and did a victory lap around his neighbourhood (zipping past moelc at 2.30am was strangely surreal...brings back memories) and finally dropped him off, then sped home (yah i admit it. prob the sake =P ) in a record....10mins I think, reached back at 2.45 am with the house dead quiet. I mean, parents din even wake up when I triggered the alarm so... Yes, that was prob one of the most fun outings we've had so far.

Oh man. I just wrote this whole long string of stuff about my med and law interviews but blogspot just erased it...prob some secret firewall put up by nus to prevent leakage of interview questions...aiyah i'm way too tired to retype all the questions and answers, and besides it won't do anybody any good cos they're just too many questions they can ask. Like my friend was quizzed about her hobbies and weird personal questions like "what's the most outrageous thing you've ever done" while mine was more medical-related, like why I wanted to be a doctor and sars (they actually asked how many people died. sheesh. and list major achievements of lim hng kiang...) and high drop-out rate of doctors and views on abortion, euthanasia, advance directive... law...first thing they asked was if law was my first choice ( to see if I was a Woman of Integrity) although they knew what my choices were and about the recent case of lawyers absconding with clients' money and fines and imprisonment and if i read law books and why i wanted to do law and why did i take japanese (" we are rather impressed by your linguistic ability" cos i put down eng, chinese, jap and malay) and if i'd further my grade 8 piano and if i had any further questions. ok so that was the two interviews in short. Phew. tmr got law written test, 1hr15mins, don't really feel like writing gp essay but... I wanna watch X-men2!!! Might be watching with F_ tonight, we haven't confirmed time and place yet tho...Gonna swim now...Get rid of the tension in my shoulder blades...Ahhhhh....
