Ah. Finally. I haft the tyme to updayte me blog. Todie's the last die in Loondoon. Here's a rundown on my nefarious activities while out of town: tuesday 14 hr flight from singapore to manchester, watched "how to lose a guy in ten days" and "phone booth" both of which were lousy, then fell asleep for the remainder of the flight. wednesday missed train to liverpool, caught another and arrived in liverpool lime street station. stayed at the adelphi hotel where i got my owyne roome which was fun =) went down to albert docks and to the uni to check out the interview location (duncan building) and visited the yellow submarine (cute!) thursdaywent shopping in the morning, bought a few tanktops cos the weather was surprisingly sunny. wore on the spot. in the afternoon, went down to the uni again. interview successful. after 20 min interview (mostly questions on working as a team and the medical course) they chased me out of the room, had a 5-min conference, then informed me that they'd give me an uncond offer. heh heh. went wif dad to anfield after that, but unfortunately the tours were finished for the day (and required advanced booking) and we couldn't see a single blade of grass cos the stadium was so enclosed. so just bummed around in the gift shop and took photos outside. friday tooke the trayne back to manchester for flight to cork. arrived at cork at 2.30pm, checked into the hotel and called the med student (canadian) who was supposed to showe me around the ucc campus. the campus was beautiful, with the river lee running thru it, with olde buildings covered with creepyng ivy etc but unfortunately the interior was as ancient as the exterior, and she said the equipment are kindda run down too (no x-ray or mri machines) so I doubt I'll be going there. Our roome was overlooking the river lee and large and roomy (though I didn't get no privacy when talking to F_ on the phone. bleaugh =P incidentally, the two days we were in cork were the ONLY days they had sun. bwahahahaha.saturday went around the cork city centre window shopping. window cos we din buy nuts, except for a cone of soft ice-cream. heh heh. Took the 5pm flyghte to loondoon, met by gwen at the airport (kor was mugging. no, not THAT kind of mugging) pulled our luggage through kensington gardens to our hotel, ramada hyde park, then went to visit my brother's dorm (aha! you say. that's where the ugly photo came from) which was messy but cosy. How nice to see Pretty Boy the First after so long. sunday the living conditions in our hotel room were so squalid that we had no choice but to shift to ramada south kensington, which was incidentally also much much nearer to kor's dorm. And it had nicer, proper beds. We went to harrod's but we forgot that the shops in london are closed on sundays. Thankfully the diligent staff of harvey nichols keep it running even on sundays so we finally found a place to lunch (or rather, tea. it was 4pm) and shoppe. monday more shoppying and dallying in kor's dorm. went to arsenal in the afternoon with dad. managed to peep at the stadium through a gap in the gates. the fielde was covered as season was over. the seats are red and white. the gyft shoppe was most tiny, but I got a beautyful cappe for meself. at night, parents, gwen and I went to watch The Woman In Black, which was rather scary and had a delightful twist at the ende. Despite that, was so fagged out that I fell asleep immediately upon reaching back. tuesday dad rented a car which had a funky gps system so we could toss our road maps out of the window. however the thing calculates the shortest route, but does not take into account how frigging jammed up the roads are, and actually brought us through the most congested part of london, the city centre...trafalgar square, picadilly, etc. oh well at least we got to see the sights. kindda forgot how trafalgar square looks like. after lunchyng with striped socks' parents, dad dropped gwen and I off at the cambridge city centre and we went shoppyng for souvenirs, ending up with thimbles and cute cambridge T-shirts (got one for cons) taking photos outside the various colleges (they haft admission charges, and with our souvenir-shop-shoppying-bags, and not having bicycles in tow, we coulde not pass of as students) and went punting, which was really fun...the river cam is shallow and winds past trinity college, st john's, etc. it was moste relaxing. wednesday watched two shows back to back, bombay dreams (melodramatic indian story with great dancing and singing) and mama mia (basically an abba concert, except the songs were strynged into a dramedy) Both were extrymely fun to watch, but of course, I'm a musical buff so... =) thursday final daye of english breakfasts (oh darn) took a stroll in hyde park and kensington gardens with good ole dad along the serpentine river, chasing the geese and swans and oohing and ahhhing at the horseback riders and their magnificent steeds. took a couple of photos before the camera inexplicably died on us (no batt) just as we were about to take a photo of some adorable ducklings (oh darn again) went to harrod's to purchase a few boxes of their moste delightful hazelnut chocolates (white, milke and darke) then strolled back through hyde park again (on my insistence) to kor's dorm, where I syte he-ah now typing this frigging long poste and wishing I could stay here a little whyle longer cos this trip haste been moste enjoyable, yet eager to go back to see my darling F_ again whome I miss moste badly with all me hearte. :x :x :x See y'all in a shorte whyle, folks! =)
