The thought of driving (plus the fact that I was real hungry) actually woke me up at 7.30am, saw Dad off (he was playing goff), ate half a rice dumpling, then promptly went back to bed. Awoken at 9+ by Mom, who wanted fetching to Dad's friend's house for breakfast with the goffers. Had a second round of breakfast there, tried out his new cappucino-making machine (we should get one of those). Apparently the caffeine content is so high that drinking a cup at 5am can keep them up the whole night. Guess it'll be bnet for me tonight then. =) Dad made me park outside their bungalow cos there was no space inside the garage. Ended up having to make a really tight three-point turn (while talking on the Hp, cos bro was demanding breakfast) outside her gate, cos the lane leading to her house is well....a lane. And I was driving, for the very first time, without anybody else in the car. Woah. A strangely liberating feeling. I know loads of people have commented on how drastically I have changed this year, getting earrings and more girly clothes etc., but I think that this moment of driving solo was, indeed, one of the defining moments in my transition to independence. When it gets cooler, Dad's gonna bring me on a road trip to the important places like my sibling's schools (in case of emergency e.g. sick chauffeur), newton (to buy hawker food, which we do practically every saturday night, when there's football on tv) and maybe orchard road, cos we're going there for ribs dinner later. Starting tennis lessons at sicc tmr, got a horrible time slot of 9 to 10 am, prob gonna get sun-burnt (and then F_ will comment on the "permanent blush" on my cheeks again. Sheesh) Tentatively it's twice a week, mon and wed, so let's see how it goes. It does trouble me somewhat that the great female tennis players (e.g.williams sisters) look like men. Maybe that's why they wear short little tennis skirts, to remind people that they're female. Haha. Had a rather long and entertaining conversation with F after lights out last night (unfortunately cut short by his bunkmate who prob couldn't sleep with his muffled laughter) and decided on watching bean flick on friday. Shall check out the 24 hr swensons too, if we are able to stay out late. Sake! Whee~
