I'm on a HIGH. From one hell of a crazy week. And dirt broke. Just splurged on three 1000-pc jigsaws and a cheapo 200-pc one which my sibs and I finished in a record 50 mins. I bought one of the 1000-pc ones for a good friend of mine, but sadly, the corner piece is missing, so I have to wait for bloody 6 to 8 weeks just to get a replacement from the jap manufacturer. Ironic, considering I spent 2 days fixing the jigsaw continuously so I could give it to him before he re-entered NS. Ah well. With my last remaining dollars, I went out with an ex-classmate of mine and the both of us got drunk at this jap restaurant at taka. Chilled sake ROCKS. But don't try it with wasabi, it's foul and makes your stomach feel funny later. It was just one little bottle but we were both giggling maniacally at the end of it and turning red in the face. And it made us late for our movie, The Recruit, one of the better movies around now, nice little twist at the end + Colin Farrell. 'Nuff said. I wanted to get him drunk again, cos he looks so cute when his face is red and his eyes are tearing up and he's laughing uncontrollably, so we went in search of Haagen Dazs for some Rocky Road ice-cream, cos Swenson's got their alcohol license revoked (WOW there's actually a 24-hr Swenson's in Orchard. Ice-cream in the dead of the night, anyone?) But we couldn't find it, ended up in Starbucks drinking ice mocha and eating some weird tiramisu cake which actually turned out nice. What else...On Tuesday we had a class dinner, which was the usual not-so-great-food-but-great-company but the highlight of the evening was when a couple of fellers came over after to play mahjong. Who said mahjong was only for tai-tais? It's bloody intellectual, yeah right. And on Thursday, my new-found drinking partner treated me to Oliver!. Thank goodness we didn't have to use binoculars cos he got fantastic seats, could actually make out their faces. Far cry from the Chang and Eng one, for sure. Thanks, pal, you're the best.
